Loading trucks

STAGING

  • Generally we like to stage and load equipment into trucks the day before.
  • Trucks are loaded "backward" meaning the last items get loaded first so that everything is in order.
  • Follow the load sheets for accessories. Meaning "X" inflatable requires a 1.5hp blower and 1 100ft 12ga extension cord.
  • Loads should be at a minimum double checked.
  • If there are units in the dirty pile use those for the route FIRST over a clean unit.

LOAD-IN

  • Start loading equipment in with the LAST delivery FIRST and the FIRST delivery LAST.
  • If it is a full truck load you have to be aware of space. Pack the equipment tight and put blowers and cords up on top of inflatables or in between them to preserve space.
  • Double check again that you have everything loaded for the route.
  • Secure your cargo appropriately. A loose dolly or chair stack can move with enough force to go right thru the rear door.

CLEANING SUPPLIES

CLEANING SUPPLIES

  • Trucks DO NOT leave for their route without proper cleaning supplies.
  • You always want to be prepared to clean on site at delivery.
  • 1 full spray bottle with Odoban mixture, adequate clean shop rags and minimum 1 portable vaccum with fully charged battery. If you have a full truckload take 2 vaccums with charged batteries.
  • If you have tents in your route you take a spray bottle of Simple Clean mixture which is used specifically for tent tops and chairs.

ADDITIONAL ITEMS

VISUAL TRUCK INSPECTION

CLEANING SUPPLIES

  • Verify that you have enough stakes for the route.
  • Verify that you have at least 1 sledgehammer. For events with multiple units its a good idea to have 2 sledgehammers.

VISUAL TRUCK INSPECTION

VISUAL TRUCK INSPECTION

VISUAL TRUCK INSPECTION

  • Pay attention to specific aspects of the truck called a "pre-trip inspection".
  • This should be done PRIOR to loading.
  • If its  dually box truck you should be able to see between the rear dual tires. if the tires are touching it means there is an air pressure issue.
  • Visually inspect front tires for air pressure issues.
  • Let the truck idle and verify temp is in normal range.
  • Do you need fuel? Do you have a fuel card to get fuel?
  • Are there any other mechanical issues that you are aware of?
