CREW LEADER

CREW LEADER - DESCRIPTION

  • Crew Leaders are primarily responsible for the on-time, clean, accurate and safe delivery and pickup of company equipment to customers.
  • The description of "on-time" means on schedule +/- a small margin (30 minutes) of the route.
  • Accurate means that all items on the order were delivered or picked up including accessories (cords, stakes, concessions etc..)
  • Clean means that the equipment was inspected for cleanliness. If needed, Crew Leaders will delegate cleaning tasks to the Crew Member including vacuum and wipe down equipment on site or anything else needed on-site to make sure we are delivering clean equipment to the highest standards.  Crew Leader is ultimately responsible for the delivery of clean equipment. If no Crew Member is present then the Crew Leader is expected to clean. While the Crew Member is cleaning the inflatable on site the Crew Leader should either be helping with that task or performing other tasks related to the efficiency of a delivery or pick-up.
  • Crew Leaders are also responsible for leading their route. Meaning they are in charge of the person that is with them (Crew Member). This means that persons safety and what they are doing during set ups and pickups. You are a delegator meaning tasks of the route are led by you and instructed to the helper. Typically once a team has worked together over and over you develop a rhythm of who is doing what but initially you have to take charge especially with new people.
  • Crew Leaders should have Crew Members assist the team regarding logistics. What this means is that while driving from one stop to another the Crew Member is reviewing the next stops tasks: What are the contents? Are there special notes? What surface is being set up? Crew Members should be communicating this information to the Crew Leader and "game planning" while driving. When you arrive at the stop you should both have a plan and be informed about the details of the event and who is doing what at the stop. Do not wait until you arrive to figure this out it should be done while in transit.
  • As a Crew Leader you are experienced and should be able to run a route efficiently. You should know the tips and tricks in a crew to make setups and takedown quick, safe and efficient.
  • A crew leader is also responsible for the primary customer interaction. If there is money to collect, greeting customers, touching base with customers prior to entering a locked fence (beware of dogs), and coordination with customer on set up location etc..
  • Crew Leaders are also trainers for new crew members. You will assist in helping to train new crew members. Sometimes this happens at the warehouse on cleaning day and sometimes its on a route. The expectations of a Crew Leader is that you can get this crew member up to speed on the basics of their job and how we do business.
  • Crew Leaders will be assigned to prep cleaning day. This means arriving 1 hour early on cleaning day to prep (see Cleaning Day Section for more details).
  • Crew Leaders also have responsibility to be scheduled to be on-call, for attendant work, cleaning days and general warehouse labor. Crew Leaders are essentially the Swiss Army knives of the operation.
